Phillip Island FP1 – FP2 COMBINED P13
Terminata, in tredicesima posizione sui tempi combinati, la prima giornata di Free Practice sul circuito di Phillip Island per Motocorsa e Ryan Vickers. Condizioni della pista molto differenti rispetto ai test dei giorni scorsi, ma solo 0,5 decimi separano il pilota britannico e il team italiano dalla top 5.
Ryan Vickers:
“È stata una giornata difficile, ma nelle FP2 abbiamo fatto un grande passo avanti e sono contento. Dobbiamo cambiare qualcosa per arrivare al livello successivo. Ho avuto una piccola caduta alla fine, il che è strano, ma la squadra sta lavorando duramente, stiamo cercando di trovare la giusta direzione, ma sono abbastanza contento di come stiamo migliorando la moto. Ero più veloce durante i test, ma ora le condizioni della pista sono diverse, siamo molto vicini a dove dobbiamo essere. È bello essere così vicini agli altri piloti alla mia prima volta nel world SBK. Il feeling sta migliorando e mi sento bene in vista di domani.”
Lorenzo Mauri:
“Prima giornata del venerdì conclusa, sono soddisfatto del lavoro svolto dal team e dal pilota. Siamo sulla strada giusta per poter ottenere dei buoni risultati, sappiamo che il livello è sempre più alto, ma siamo fiduciosi di poter fare bene. Contiamo di fare alcune modifiche per poter arrivare a togliere quel decimo che ci manca per arrivare dove dobbiamo arrivare. Non vediamo l’ora di tornare in pista domani per la prima gara della stagione.”

The first day of Free Practice at the Phillip Island circuit for Motocorsa and Ryan Vickers ended in thirteenth position on the combined times. Track conditions were very different from the previous days’ tests, but only 0.5 tenths separated the British rider and the Italian team from the top 5.
Ryan Vickers:
“It was a difficult day, but in FP2 we took a big step forward and I am happy. We have to change something to get to the next level. I had a small crash at the end, which is strange, but the team is working hard, we are trying to find the right direction, but I am quite happy with how we are improving the bike. I was faster during the test, but now the track conditions are different, we are very close to where we need to be. It’s nice to be so close to the other riders in my first time in world SBK. The feeling is improving and I feel good ahead of tomorrow.”
Lorenzo Mauri:
“First day of Friday finished, I am satisfied with the work done by the team and the rider. We are on the right track to be able to get good results, we know that the level is always higher, but we are confident that we can do well. We are counting on making some changes so that we can take off that tenth that we are missing to get where we need to be. We can’t wait to get back on track tomorrow for the first race of the season.”
