Phillip Island RACE 1: P 13
Si è conclusa la prima gara del campionato World Superbike a Phillip Island per Ryan Vickers e il team Motocorsa, in tredicesima posizione. tra i Rookies. Dopo una mattinata impegnativa a causa di una caduta nelle FP3, Ryan Vickers è riuscito a portarsi a casa la sedicesima casella della griglia di partenza durante la Superpole. Nonostante l’incidente della mattina e le temperature molto alte, il giovane pilota britannico e il team si sono aggiudicati i primi tre punti della stagione.
Ryan Vickers:
“Finita la prima giornata di gara nel campionato superbike della mia carriera e sono felice di avere concluso a punti in P13. Il gruppo davanti non era molto più veloce, avevo un piccolo distacco ma non sono riuscito ad agganciarmi facilmente a loro come avrei voluto. Abbiamo perso molto tempo in pit-lane durante il flag to flag a causa mia perché sono arrivato un po’ troppo lentamente. Le condizioni di oggi penso siano le più difficili che abbia mai avuto nella mia carriera, era veramente molto caldo, con queste temperature la moto è completamente cambiata e penso che sia lo stesso per tutti. Nel complesso sono davvero felice, questa mattina ho avuto un piccolo incidente durante le prove libere, ma i ragazzi del team hanno mantenuto la testa e mi hanno dato una grande moto.Siamo pronti per domani.”
Lorenzo Mauri:
“Il battesimo per il team è stato più che positivo, terminare a punti in P13 e primo tra i rookies alla prima gara è un buon risultato, tenendo in considerazione la caduta di stamattina che ha condizionato un po’ i movimenti sulla guida. Le basi sono molto buone, soprattutto perché Ryan debutta con una moto che non conosce e su una pista su cui non ha mai girato. Il team è più che soddisfatto di quello che è il rendimento dimostrato in questo primo appuntamento.”

The first World Superbike championship race at Phillip Island ended for Ryan Vickers and the Motocorsa team in thirteenth position. After a challenging morning due to a crash in FP3, Ryan Vickers managed to take home sixteenth on the grid during Superpole. Despite the morning’s crash and the very high temperatures, the young British rider and the team secured the first three points of the season.
Ryan Vickers:
“II finished the first race day in the superbike championship of my career and I am happy to have finished in the points in P13. The front group wasn’t much faster, I had a small gap but I couldn’t catch up to them as easily as I would have liked. We lost a lot of time in the pit lane during the flag to flag because I arrived a little too slowly. Today’s conditions I think are the most difficult I’ve ever had in my career, it was really very hot, with these temperatures the bike has completely changed and I think it’s the same for everybody. Overall I am really happy, I had a small crash this morning during free practice, but the guys in the team kept their heads and gave me a great bike.We are ready for tomorrow.”
Lorenzo Mauri:
“The baptism for the team was more than positive, finishing in the points in P13 and first among the rookies at the first race is a good result, taking into account the crash this morning which affected the riding a little. The foundations are very good, especially as Ryan is making his debut on a bike he doesn’t know and on a track he has never ridden on. The team is more than satisfied with the performance shown in this first round.”
